I am planning to study Business with Spanish whilst picking up optional modules in Italian, for my third year abroad will I be expected to study in Spain or Italy or both?

If your degree is 'Business and Spanish' then usually Spanish should be the priority. If a year abroad is integrated into your degree then a year abroad in Spain or a Spanish-speaking country is obligatory. It's definitely important to keep your Italian ticking over, so why not enrol in some modules or evening classes in Italian while you're abroad, or try and find some Italian friends (you could do conversation exchanges to teach each other??!) or even get a job in Italy during your summer holidays before and after your degree-related placements? You have lots of options! Have fun :)
