What to do for the French part of my Year Abroad?
I am a French and German student and currently on my Year Abroad in Germany working as a Language Assistant. I am here until the end of May and then plan to spend my summer in France. The only problem is that I'm unsure of what my options are for only a few months - I was considering au pairing, volunteering, a language course or looking for a summer placement but I'm not sure where to start. Can anybody recommend something?

I don't know if it's too short for what you were thinking of, but to get a bit of time in France during the summer after my year abroad I did a volunteering work camp/chantier with APARE.
They're mostly 3 weeks long, and you spend the whole time living/eating/cooking/socialising with the group (10-15 people) as well as working with dry stone wall/paving or something similar to improve something in the local area.
I had never done anything like that before but found it was a great way to meet people, practise speaking French and to see some more rural parts of southern France!
I did au pairing for 8 months a couple of years ago and it was a really good experience! I improved my French massively and the family I was with was lovely! There are some horror stories about awful families and kids but if you do your research you will be fine - make sure you ask lots of questions about the life they lead, what you will be expected to do, whether there are any opportunities to meet people your own age etc. I found it very easy to see the type of family I was going to get along with just by their emails.Check out aupair-world.net for families :)
