I want to spend my third year abroad in Rome and my university has links with both Roma Tre and La Sapienza- which one should i apply for?

I am Italian and History student at the university of Edinburgh , who is required to spend her third year abroad in Italy. Rome is my first choice of where to study, and i would much prefer to go La Sapienza than Roma Tre. However, i have heard that that there is no point applying to La sapienza, as it is way too competitive for Erasmus students. I don't really want to waste one of my choices on a university that will probably not give me an offer. Is this defiantly the case for La Sapienza? Any advice would be appreciated?
