I have just received an email saying what school I am going to in Spain, will I get some other confirmation from the British Council?

No. Once the application has been approved and you have been paired, it lies with the international body. You will get an email about applying for the police check but other than that contact should be made with the school or with the international body.
I received my contract in the post from Spain about a week ago (i'm employed by Castilla y Leon not the Ministry of Education). I had to accept the post through a British Council survey... the link was in an email- hopefully you received this :)
