Whether you're a Middlesex student looking to study abroad, or a student from another institution who would like to study with us in London, we have a range of opportunities and programmes to suit you.
Newcastle University
We encourage our students to enrich their degree by taking advantage of the opportunity to study or work abroad. Through an international exchange programme you can experience different cultures, develop your skills and grow in confidence, make new friends and boost your CV. The Erasmus+ exchange programme allows you to study or work in another European country. Alternatively you could go further afield to study with one of our partners outside Europe.
Newman University, Birmingham
At Newman we believe offering you an international dimension to your studies is important to your personal, academic and professional development. As part of your degree course – undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time or full-time, Newman gives you the possibility to broaden your horizons and gain academic recognition. You could be eligible to study or work abroad, as part of your course, in Europe and even further afield in places like The Gambia and India. There are new and exciting opportunities arising all the time through the Erasmus programme and links worldwide.
Northumbria University
Northumbria University offers a wide range of opportunities for all Undergraduate students to study abroad as part of a degree programme or as a summer or Easter placement. Undergraduate students usually study abroad for one semester in which time you will need to earn the equivalent of 60 UK credits towards your degree from Northumbria.
Nottingham Trent University
There are a number of options for study abroad. If your course has a compulsory placement or year abroad, you can take part either as a funded Erasmus student or non-funded outside Europe. There is also the opportunity to study for one semester at one of our partners. Many of our partners teach in English so there are no language barriers to participation and you may take the opportunity of an Intensive Language Course at the University prior to commencing your studies.
Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh
Exchanges offer the opportunity to travel and live in another country and learn different customs and traditions. You will also encounter different ways of learning, make new friends and learn new skills to add to your CV. We have a number of exchange agreements with universities in Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia. Exchange programmes allow students to study for periods of three months, one semester, or two semesters in a university in another country. There are two types of exchange available: those arranged though the Erasmus programme of the European Union and those arranged with non-European Universities.
Queen Mary University
First year students enrolled on a three-year programme are invited to apply to spend the second year (or first semester of the second year) of their QMUL undergraduate degree abroad. Some of QMUL’s four-year degree programmes offer students to spend their third year abroad to come back to QMUL for the fourth year (e.g. Law, SLLF). The academic work students complete abroad will be credited towards their QMUL degree. Students on a degree programme including a work placement/year in industry (Erasmus+ traineeships), can also benefit from the programme.
Queen's University Belfast

At Richmond, we believe in providing access to education on a global scale. We strive to provide Richmond students and faculty, together with those of our partners, an opportunity for an international educational experience through exchange and collaboration programmes. Our partners come from Europe, North and South America, the South Pacific, Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East.
Robert Gordon University

Roehampton University
All University of Roehampton students can apply for a period abroad during their degree; whether you are eligible to study abroad for either a semester, year or summer depends on your degree, and some programmes available may not be for academic credit. There is financial support available, all non-Modern Languages programmes are taught in English and the Roehampton Abroad team is there to support you along the way! Studying abroad is fun, increases your employability, develops your interpersonal and problem-solving skills and increases your self-confidence. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so what are you waiting for?!
Royal Holloway, University of London
There are numerous advantages to studying abroad during your studies at Royal Holloway. Studying abroad is a great opportunity to develop new skills and experience student life in a new environment. A period of study outside the UK will also provide you with the opportunity to enhance your overall knowledge and understanding of your subject, develop your intercultural skills, have the opportunity to widen your network of friends and future contacts and increase your independence and self confidence.

Sheffield Hallam University is committed to providing a learning and teaching experience which includes an international dimension. Many of our courses provide the opportunity to study abroad for three months or up to a year and earn credit towards a final qualification. Southampton Solent University is seeking to increase the number of students able to undertake overseas placements, but the opportunities available will depend on students’ individual circumstances.
St Mary's University, Twickenham

The study abroad programme on offer at St Mary’s University is available for first year students to apply and the programme commences for a full semester in either semester one or two of second year. Wherever your Study Abroad experience takes you, there will be the opportunity for independent travel and you will be given the freedom to immerse yourself into the country and its culture. We have partner institutions in the US and Australia through the St Mary’s worldwide programme and in Europe through the Erasmus + programme where St Mary’s students can spend a full semester.
Staffordshire University
Staffordshire University has an excellent reputation for long established educational partnerships with international universities, colleges and other organisations. These partnerships are crucial to the future success of Staffordshire University. They provide the opportunity for students in many countries in the world to study for Staffordshire University awards in their home country. We currently have a variety of collaborative arrangements which enable students to study outside of the UK – others come to Staffordshire University to study.
