John studied French and Spanish at Cardiff University, and spent his year abroad studying at Valencia University, Spain, and working as a waiter at Disneyland Paris. He is now a Translator for the European Commission, the organisation which represents the interests of the EU as a whole.

The European Commission proposes new legislation to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, and it ensures that EU law is correctly applied by member countries.
