Grenoble, France - magical, historic, scenic, lively, multicultural Grenoble is an amazing city that I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit France. It is truly an incredible place to visit and live in because of its laid-back views and easy going lifestyle. The food from the region is widely available to try in the city and the delicacies are amazing. Its proximity to the Alps means that getting to resorts is also very easy thanks to the regions bus routes which cater for lots of tourists.
Useful local words: 'Gre' (local name for Grenoble)
What to pack: Warm clothes for winter.
What not to pack: Too many toiletries, you'll get the same stuff out here.
Couldn't have done without: My laptop.
Word of advice: Some areas can be dangerous, like Echirolles, so have your wits about you.
